My passion for photography started when I was a young girl, capturing everything and everyone around me. I would make my sister and brother pose for shoots with my disposable camera. My favorite days would be when my mom would take me to Costco to pick up my developed film. I hung all my photos in my room and grew this beautiful collage of friends and family. As I got older my love for taking photos grew. I upgraded to a digital camera after saving lots of bday money. I would direct music videos with my sister and cousins. In high school, I shot for the yearbook and was editor my senior year. Soon instagram came out and we all became photographers. I didn’t do much photography in college, but I did start my decade-long bout in the service industry. I was a barista, bartender, and waitress. It was exhausting, but I wouldn't trade that time for anything. I learned so much about customer service and I know it helps me with my client experience. Four years ago covid hit and the world turned off. I was a bartender at a popular distillery at the time. I had been taking photos of my friends with the new free time I had found during the pandemic. I started posting the pictures on Instagram and people started asking me if I could take their photos. Like what?! It all happened so fast and all of a sudden I had so many inquiries. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude, that my heart was bursting. After one year in business, I could quit my bartending gig and take Seaira Skinner Photo full time. It has been the most beautiful journey and I'm so thankful for everyone I've met along the way, especially the ones who booked me that first year. Y’all are the real OG’s!
